Monday, Sept. 13-Further North and Tuesday, Sept 14

Today was mostly a day of driving except for a stop in Kittery, ME, to visit the outlet mall. We drove on to Black Bear RV Park and spent the night. It was an average camp ground but very nice people. It was on a lake and the view was awesome.

Tues: We left Salisbury, ME, this morning and headed for Bar Harbor. We arrived in Trenton which is close to Bar Harbor around 3 PM and couldn't decide which RV park to stay in so we rode to all 3 and looked before we decided. We chose "Narrows Too" named for the Mt. Desert Narrows. Mt. Desert is an island where Acadia National Park is. We plan to visit there tomorrow because as we were setting up it began to rain. So we watched a little TV and read. Plans for dinner----we are hitting a lobster shack where they serve fresh lobster as you watch and wait. It is just as the name implies a shack on the water! Can't wait.
Later--It was definitely worth the wait. We drove up to this shack and walked inside to scores of people standing in line. When we got to the front of the line we had to choose what size lobster we wanted and whether we wanted soft shell or hard shell. Evidently, soft shell is softer and sweeter. It is right after they shed their shell. We went with the soft shell. After ordering we moved to the other line and paid. When the lobster is cooked they call the number they gave you and you pick it up. It was a fairly expensive meal even with the environment. Fun experience. Strange how intimidating it was to go in the shack and not know how or what to order. We just asked other people. We struggled getting the meat from that lobster but you could look around and see people that were experts.  Fun!
